Message: Role of women in Religion

This painting from the wall of the tombe dell barone in Tarquinia suggests that women had a role to play in Religion. The man is accompanied by a boy playing the double flute, and offering the priestess something on a platter (click to magnify). It looks like part of a ritual. Any comments?
