Here's a short poem I wrote several years ago. Visiting the Ancestors These stones listen. Hill wind blows voices over and down. Name it for yourself, that sound of all names over and down the hill. Green mounds loom here, the grass-thatched tombs of our fathers. After they shadow the bright mounds, hawks out hunting cry, then wheel away. Two measures of wine! One for this toast, then pour the other for the old names, the ones the wind is calling.
