I think the best examples are to be found in Marzabotto. These are aligned on a North South grid. The Atrium is a common feature, and the Atrium Tuscana originated with the Etruscans. The other site that is often quoted is the huge 7th Century structure at Murlo. Nobody knows exactly what that is. It may be a palace of some kind. The Roman Villa has its origins in Etruscan houses, and there are various examples of Etruscan Villas from the early 7th century onwards. They also seem to share some of the rooms characteristic of Roman houses, at least from looking at later tombs. The Tablinium, or bedroom was an Etruscan invention. Underfloor heating was also a common feature with later Roman Villas. I have some images on my computer at home, but I'm currently on holiday in Scotland.
